Austin’s A Giant Dog have just unveiled “Get With You and Get High”,the second single from their Merge Records debut Pile which will be out on May 6. The song is described by the band as an “abstract party monster ballad” and features guest vocals by Spoon’s Britt Daniel. The song’s three-part harmonies and drone-y heroin sound showcase a different side of the band that brought us the infectious energy of “Sex & Drugs”.

Pile is their second time working with producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, White Denim, Trail of Dead) reveals Sabrina Ellis’ impressive pipes, Andrew Cashen’s sweet licks, and a pummeling rhythm section – everything is tighter, more focused, crisper. The album deals with divorce, getting older, dying, frustration, and futility, ultimately transcending those earthly headaches through the power of rock ’n’ roll.
