Italian four-piece The Gluts have just released their sophomore LP Estasi on Fuzz Club Records. Officially released today, the new album – their first on Fuzz Club – is eleven tracks of ferocious post-punk that throughout its running time, constantly teeters on the brink, ready to self-destruct at any minute – like a cross between the noisiest extremes of Killing Joke and newer post-punk contemporaries such as Protomartyr or Metz.
Estasi is driven by a relentlessly brooding rhythm section, pummeling and almost gothic guitars, stabs of swirling feedback and tortured, barking vocals. Totally primal and piercing in its delivery, it’s an impressive and totally intense blast of bludgeoning psychedelic punk.
