The Norfolk five-piece Morganway have recently released their brand new single “My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You“. We’ve now the pleasure of premiere the video that show us the band playing it in a studio session at the Fairlight Studios.
The video not only thrives in exposing the song’s breathtaking sound that is Americana-influenced, filled with wonderful harmonies, and some brutally incisive riffs, but also reveals the awe-inspiring synergy that exists between these five individuals, an energy that you can feel but you can hardly explain it. There are many tricks or even different ways to do things when it comes to music and songs, but at the end of the day there’s few things better than a group of passionate people with a genuine love for songwriting, that are able to translate it in a way that shows off some beautiful honesty and that ends up touching people.
Check below the video and song, and read what Morganway’s lead guitarist Kieran Morgan and Fairlight Studios’ co-founder & visual director Luke Ducker have to say about the song and the studio session.
“Some songs are written exactly as they end up, while others go on journeys… My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You is definitely a traveller, When we recorded it in the studio for our new EP we had a lot of fun experimenting with production from Synth sounds, to spacey and ambient guitar tones that both flow through the mix. It was really cool to go into Fairlight Studios and record the song live in a more stripped back approach. The guys were awesome to work with and we’re really pleased with the results. We’ve always been a very live band and this video has really captured our energy. My Love has been getting a great response online so we can’t wait to show everyone ‘The Hurricane EP’ when it drops on 7th April!” – Kieran Morgan
“Morganway are an outstanding collection of individuals, and aside from their obvious musical talent they brought an engaged positivity to their studio session with us that made them a real pleasure to work with. We film and record a number of genres and artists at Fairlight Studios, but it’s a rare occasion that we get to be involved with a band that can pull off such tight performances time after time, utterly nailing their distinct sound. They made our job easy and we can’t wait to have them back!” – Luke Ducker – Co-Founder & Visual Director Fairlight Studios
Morganway are working towards the release of their second EP The Hurricane EP on April 7th, following the release of their debut EP No Tomorrows last year. “My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You” is the forthcoming EP’s lead single.
