Recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios, A Patient Man is Cult Leader’s sophomore album, and probably one of the ugliest, most complex and captivating efforts of this year.
There is something exhilaratingly brutal and claustrophobic in the way they blend hardcore with grindcore, with these crushing and almost guttural dynamics, creating a sense of introspection and an immersive effect on the listener. A Patient Man is a challenging experience, thematically brilliant and truly impressive.
