On their very first full-length Helleven, Italian thrash metal act Haniwa are able to bring the classic old school elements of Thrash Metal to the table. They’re fast and brutal with ace riffs aplenty and an unrelenting sound that grabs you by the throat and forces you to listen. This is a band that clearly are having fun and still unafraid to fuck with people’s heads with their in your face explosive blend of genres, where names like Slayer, Kreator and Testament are clearly influences on their sound. It’s great to see their evolution since their 2015’s debut EP. Their sound shows new levels of maturity and it’s even more focused, giving a new meaning to their energetic and defiant aggression. Worthy of a good whirlwind headbang!
