10. Johnny Jewel – Lost River OST
I like everything Johnny Jewel releases. I’m always excited to see what he will do next. I enjoyed this release very much.”

9. Black Wing – …Is Doomed
Dan is a genius. I like to space out to this release.

8. Loma Prieta – Self Portrait
Really respect these dudes, I can hear all of the excellence and hard work put in this release. This album took me by surprise and it felt very bright, explosive, love the production. It’s a near perfect album.

7. Cities Aviv – Your Discretion Is Trust
I’ve listened to this release a lot while coming home from work, or being drunk on BART. It’s been a nice soundtrack for my life. Gavin is an incredible artist with a style all his own.

6. FKA Twigs – M3LL155X
It’s FKA… need I say more?

5. Sheer Mag – II EP
Makes me want to dance, makes me feel like a powerful woman.”

4. Royal Headache – High
Puts me in an excellent mood when I am feeling down. I love that I can sing along really loud, love the lyrics, his voice has a lot of feeling and I’m into that.

3. Liturgy – The Ark Work
I saw Liturgy live earlier this year because they were playing in the room next to King Woman. It was a spiritual experience for me, after that show I started listening to them. I really connect with the sounds on this album.

2. Father John Misty – I Love You, Honeybear
I relate to the story behind this album: Love taking you by surprise, unmasking yourself and transcending/growing with someone you love. It’s also just a humorous, brilliant, catchy album.”

1. Shlohmo – Dark Red
I am fascinated by Aliens, this sounds like Alien music.”

Joey Raygoza (Drummer)

Weedeater – Goliathan
This record is number one for me because it was one of the records I anticipated the most and it did not disappoint. Also The only record I listened to before recording our record. It sounds just like a Weedeater record and that’s why I love it.

Stressors – Skin Trap 7”
Bay Area punk done right. Just very jealous of how young and talented everyone In this band is.

Sheer Mag – II EP

Institute – Catharsis
I feel like this band got way more melodic and better at song structure while also staying true their old jangly punk sound. Shit hits hard.”

Weed – Running Back
I love the production on this record. The drums sound real dry and I love that shit, it works really well for this record.”

Loma Prieta – Self Portrait
I love the balance between melody and power violence sounding stuff they are known for. This record has it all though.”

Marie Davidson – Un Autre Voyage
Electronic shit that slaps.”

Planning For Burial – Leaving
Thom just doing what he does.”
