Pusha-T (from the Clipse-fame) has released his Kanye West-produced new album. It’s called DAYTONA and it’s out today via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam. The seven-track record includes a Kanye West-featuring song called “What Would Meek Do?” and a feature from Rick Ross (on “Hard Piano”).
The new album follows the 2015’s Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude. The album’s name was changed from King Push to better “represent the overall message of this body of work,” according to Pusha.“ “Daytona represents the fact that I have the luxury of time. That luxury only comes when u have a skill set that your confident in.” He further explained that the record is “for my family…high taste level, luxury, drug raps fans… Literally this is nothing more than the outcome of our musical therapy sessions.”
The album artwork is a photograph of Whitney Houston’s bathroom taken in 2006. West offered to pay the $85,000 licensing fee himself.
DAYTONA marks the first of a total of five releases from G.O.O.D. Music that will drop over the next few weeks – Kanye West’s new album, Nas’ new album, Teyana Taylor’s new album, and a joint collab with West and Kid Cudi.
