Back in April, SiXX:A.M. released their strongly good Vol. 1, Prayers of The Damned. Now, they return with the Vol. 2, Prayers For The Blessed, another set of anthems which were written and recorded at the same time as the Vol. 1. Releasing double albums is always an ambitious move, but since the inception of this conceptual piece their ambition was over the top and their input was always very focused, fresh and innovative.
A double album is most of the times tricky and challenging for the listener, but this 6 months’ gap was a clever and brilliant move, because it gives time to absorb and digest this meditative, driving and straight-forward honest piece. The duality between good and evil has always the core of SiXX:A.M.’s sound, nothing sounds too obvious and they’ve once again pushed themselves and their sound forward.
