We’ve asked bands/artists to share with us their highs and lows of 2016 and what they hope the New Year will bring to them. Here’s the year in review with Luke Branch of Asylums.

On a scale of 1-10, how was 2016 been for you?
10 – Life changing creative fulfilment.

Have you learned any life lessons this year?
Never give up if you believe in what your doing.

What was the highlight of 2016 for you?
Our album was made album of the day on BBC6 Music and we sold out a lunch show for Radio X in the same week. Mind blown.

Any low points for you?
Let’s not get into world politics.

What was the most overhyped thing of 2016?
Batman V Superman.

Worst of 2016?
Batman V Superman & Suicide Squad both left the comic book fan in me numb.

Best of 2016?
As far as popular culture goes I enjoyed Stranger Things, the Oasis documentary Supersonic and the return of Tribe Called Quest.

Best albums of the 2016?
A Tribe Called Quest.

Worst albums of the 2016?
It’s kind of bad in a good way, the Selector Dub Narcotic record. My dog loves it.

Any new year’s resolution for 2017?
Keep 2016 going for another year.
