Today, the London-based three-piece Benin City, comprised of vocalists Joshua Idehen and Shanaz Dorsett with multi-instrumentalist Tom Leaper, release their new track, “Bus“, with accompanying visuals directed by George Bushaway. The track is taken from their upcoming album, Last Night, which will be an ode to London’s nightlife, set for release via Moshi Moshi Records on June 15th 2018.
“Bus” is underpinned by a percussive, electronic beat and features distinct vocals from Joshua and Shanaz, narrating the journeys taken and emotions felt after a night out in London. The accompanying video was filmed after one of these nights out, on the trusted London nightbus. The band said the following about the track/video:
“We filmed this on a London bus, between 7pm and 2am on a Friday night. We thought we’d get kicked off by the driver or shouted at by commuters, but London was a hell of a lot nicer than we expected: We ended up having a party with our friends and strangers amidst a busy night bus home. Also: the seats were nice and clean. Big up TFL.”
