Brooklyn quartet Boytoy has announced their sophomore album Night Leaf will arrive April 27 on PaperCup Music worldwide except Stolen Body in the UK/Europe and Burger Records (cassette-only), along with the announcement they’ve also shared the first single, “Mary Anne” (listen below).
Of the single, Saara Untracht-Oakner stated: “Mary Anne is about the feeling that comes with a new crush, a new lust. No matter how brief, that excitement, that electricity, takes over your body and consumes your head-space. It lingers after that person is gone, like psychedelic trails that you can still feel, until they dissipate into a faded dream“.
Night Leaf was recorded with producer Kyle Mullarky‘s (Allah Las) at his Pump House Studio in Topanga Canyon, outside of Los Angeles. The queer, female quartet will be previewing the album next month, kicking off a tour down to SXSW, March 1 in Brooklyn (dates below).
