Alfonso Gomez-Rejon movie is what we may call boy meets girl and girl is dying of cancer, and I already know what you’re thinking: Oh no, another Fault In Our Stars? Wrong! Me And Earl And The Dying Girl is more 50/50 meets Short Term 12, is funny and depressive at the same time, but it’s going further regarding new levels of emotion. This is not the typical teen movie, a true indie gem that is incisively and entertainingly intelligent. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon raised the bar with this movie, let’s see what he will do next.
