Gone Is Gone - Echolocation (Rise Records) 2017

7

Gone Is Gone is an atmospheric and experimental supergroup featuring Mastodon’s Troy Sanders, Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen, At the Drive-In’s Tony Hajjar and multi-instrumentalist Mike Zarin. Echolocation is Gone Is Gone’s debut full-length, just 6 months after releasing their self-titled EP. Sounding heavier, harsher and more expansive, this is an effort that seems built on their own levels of intensity, full of heavy distortion and highly charged, progressive and haunting atmospheric anthems. Tracks like “Dublin” or even lead single “Sentient” are just two good examples of their shattering and wide top notch creativity. Echolocation is eerie and enigmatic hypnotic, with the ability to sound epic and weird at the same time.
