Highasakite reveal the video for “Mexico“, taken from their upcoming third album Uranium Heart, released February 1st 2019 on Propeller Recordings.
The video is produced by Erik Ferguson, a world renowned V-fx artist and director, well known for his tumour-like creatures and realistic creations. With his previous work including music videos for Nero, Gorillaz and Lil Jon, artwork for The Horrors, and the background video for Rihanna’s MTV VMA performance.
Erik mentions; “It’s always a good sign when you have a clear picture in your head the moment you hear the song, I got that with ‘Mexico’. I instantly knew I wanted to do something that played on the divine. Ingrid has a special voice that really hits these themes and inspired me to go in this direction. The track for me hits the perfect elements; timeless, dark and huge sounding, with an undercurrent of dealing with human relationships in the lyrical content. The “frozen” portraits tell each other their little story and perhaps it shows the most private and real moment in a human life; Who are you right before you die.”
