Menace Beach, Leeds-based Liza Violet and Ryan Needham return with Lemon Lemory, the follow-up to their excellent debut album, Ratworld. Fueled with fuzzed-up riffage and huge doses of distortion, Lemon Memory sounds lush and complex, their ability to create softly harmonies is unique, loose and more expansive. From the Beatles’ classic melodic esque to the Pavement’s meets Pixies indie fuzz-epics, it’s fair to say that Menace Beach’s sophomore effort is a solid win. Sounds refreshing, bold and experimental, the songwriting is tight and even more focused. Lemon Memory demands repeated listening.
