Tropical Fuck Storm, the Australian outfit featuring ex-The Drones’ Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin with Lauren Hammel (High Tension) and Erica Dunn (Harmony/Mod Con), debut the video for “The Future of History,” song taken from the band’s upcoming Joyful Noise Recordings’ debut, A Laughing Death in Meatspace (Oct. 26).

“Witness protaganist Gary Kasparov’s historic 1997 chess confrontation with IBM Supercomputer Deep Blue,” offered the band of the Chris Matthews’ created clip. “The stakes are high. Kasparov is thrust head long through the aeons into the unavoidable hell of 2020. There he faces the repercussions of his frankly lackadaisical efforts in the subjugation of IBM’s glorified calculator. Can he absolve himself of this blunder? Or is the future of history itself at stake?”
The video arrives as Tropical Fuck Storm prepares for their first U.S. tour in support of the nine-song release, joining Modest Mouse for 10-dates as well as their own performances in Brooklyn (Oct. 8 at Elsewhere Zone 1) and Los Angeles (Oct. 15 at The Echo), full dates below.
