Watch Emma Hern’s “Love is Killing Me” Video

Nashville-via-Boston-via-Richmond belter Emma Hern is taking the leap and ready to make a splash across the country – taking her Nashville-approved blend of americana, soul, pop, and a touch of glam wide with “Love is Killing Me.”

In advance of the release of her debut self-titled EP, Emma Hern is releasing the video for “Love is Killing Me.” Filmed by Jacqueline Justice, the bubblegum-pink girl gang visuals match Emma’s playfully take-no-prisoners lyrical vibe. She explains, “I wanted to try to write a fun take on the fact that we all like to act tougher than we are when it comes to being vulnerable with someone in an intimate way.

The creative process for both the video and EP centered around two important energies: Nashville and the feminine. Emma details the making of the video:

“It was a female heavy production with around 8 different women working on the shoot from head videographer, Jacqueline Justice, to stylists, choreographers and everything in between. I had a very specific idea in my head— kind of a Pink Ladies meets Thelma and Louise— and all of these insanely talented women came out of the woodwork to help me fully realize the vision in my head. I felt so incredibly lucky to have them all lend their time and talent. The community in Nashville never ceases to amaze me.”

Up next for Emma Hern is the release of the full EP May 11, as well as her Nashville release show May 16 at City Winery.
