After countless director, casting and release date changes, the long-delayed Western Jane Got a Gun is finally getting ready for its release, first it will be released in Europe in November and in the U.S. in February 2016. The Weinstein Company stepped in to save the film, and a new French trailer has been unveiled.
Watch the trailer below:
The script, by Brian Duffield, appeared on the 2011 Black List, and a film was set in motion in 2012 with Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender and acclaimed We Need to Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay attached to star and direct, respectively. However, Fassbender clashed with Ramsay and left the project, and just as production on the film was about to begin in 2013, Ramsay stepped away. Her removal sent the movie into a tailspin, and though Gavin O’Connor (Warrior) stepped in to replace her, the film never got much closer to seeing the light of day in theaters. To make matters worse, Relativity was forced to put the movie up for sale over the summer after the company went bankrupt.
