British alternative rockers Youth Killed It are asking themselves at what point did they begin settling for the ordinary, rather than pushing for more, with the video for “Where Did I Go Wrong?” out now via Rude Records.
Watch the video below.
On the video, singer Jack Murphy says “We set out to make a video that embellished our feelings for modern day life, it’s the story of every person that looks in the mirror and compares themselves to every Instagram model or famous YouTuber out there, it’s about self doubt and clawing your way out of that particular mindset, people need to not get caught up in a fake life and realise it’s not healthy.”
The song is a commentary on what the singer calls ‘false-perfect li(f)e’, the snapshots of other people’s seemingly impeccable lives and how they make us question what we’re getting wrong in our own lives. Murphy says “We are the generation of ‘big dreams’ and believe we can be anything we want, when in actual fact, reality hits us harder when we take the first big steps out in the real world”.
