Album Premiere: HEADS. – “Collider”

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Heads. new album Collider (listen below), which is scheduled to be officially released this next friday, through This Charming Man Records. You can pre-order the album here.

Kevin Whitley from legendary US noise rockers Cherubs joins the band on “Smile”, while Luc Hess (Kunz + Closet Disco Queen + ex-The Ocean) lends his drumming to “Youth” and “To Call and Let It Ring”. Emilie Zoë (solo + Autisti) and Fabian Bremer (Radare + graphic design) bring the haunting qualities of their musicianship to “Wolves at the Door”. All of this is held together by an impeccable mix and mastering of the one and only Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna).

There’s something intriguing about Heads. wall of sound, where post-punk, noise rock and dark atmosphere of 90’s alternative rock perfectly clash. They have an all-round knack for creating an aesthetic package and this record is no exception.

While there are at times a relative calm on moments on Collider, their sound it’s not quite relaxed, it’s dark and expansive but allows more stripped-down moments to come in along, creating this sort of immersive and intense experience.

Listen to Collider below:

Heads. Ed Fraser said about the new album: “The 10 songs on Collider were written over the last 2 years or so, it’s kind of a weird setup for us now as it’s very rare that the three of us are in the same city at the same time these days. These songs all come from a bleak place, they’re all interconnected in one way or another, there are a lot of recurring themes here. Last year we recorded the whole album over nearly three weeks with Jan Kerscher at Ghost City in Germany, it lives up to its name – there’s not a whole lot else to do out there apart from be in the studio, by the end we definitely felt like we were in some weird three person version of The Shining. We tracked the music live together, and pushed each other to create tension within the music, to try and get that feeling that the songs are all about to come through.”
