Emilie Nicolas has dropper her new, and second, album Tranquille Emile, via Propeller Recordings, 4 years after the release of her critically acclaimed and internationally adored debut full length Like I’m A Warrior.
The new album perfectly showcases Emilie’s unique sense of melody and her effortless ability to combine life’s dark moments and the highlights of love through her lyrics. A careful balance between cinematic love, and graceful sorrow – Tranquille Emile is sure to more than please fans of SZA, FKA Twigs, and Frank Ocean.
After a successful debut and tours Emilie suddenly went quiet. Illness forced her to take a break from music and the limelight she found herself in – until 2017. In January of that year, she released standalone single “Sky”. Almost a year and a half later – now Emilie Nicolas returns with her truly stunning second full length album Tranquille Emile.
The making of the album started about a year ago, and has been an incredibly open and inclusive process. In addition to Emilie and producer Eivind Helgerød, many of her friends and artist colleagues have contributed – and in various ways made their mark on the album; along with the artwork, made by five year old Jon Stoesen Chocron.
A number of producers were involved in the recording process, along with more than 20 different musicians and a large choir, featuring Norwegian soul star Jarle Bernhoft.
